Members of the MCJROTC helped collect toys from their fellow Blue Jays as part of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots drive.

The Jesuit MCJROTC collected nearly 1,000 toys in their annual Toys for Tots drive. The staggering number reflects a 20 percent increase over last year’s drive.

Jesuit students were encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys to the boxes the MCJROTC left in their homerooms. Blue Jays from all grade levels responded. Homerooms 806, 907, 1008, 1106, and 1206 collected the most toys in their grade levels. As a class, freshmen donated the most toys.

Toys for Tots was founded in 1995 by the U.S. Marine Corps to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
