Chemistry AP Exam Prep

The Chemistry AP Exam is a very substantial examination of General College Chemistry.  It is designed to be taken after a second year of high school chemistry (AP).  Even though we have had great success at Jesuit in taking the exam no one should attempt it after just one year of chemistry unless he does have a solid A in Chemistry I Honors and is willing to do extra work in getting ready for the test.

Question 4 of Part B in the Free Response part of the exam requires the prediction of chemical reactions and the writing of net ionic reactions.  The three items that follow deal with the development of this skill.

A very basic periodic table, a reduction potential table, and a comprehensive table of constants and equations are supplied on the exam.  However, students are expected to know common ions, strength of electrolytes, strong acids and bases, and solubility rules for the exam.
