Lacrosse Whips Mandeville, 18-5

Senior Max Murret and sophomore Aiden Roberts had three goals apiece to lead the Jesuit lacrosse team over Mandeville, 18-5. The district contest took place at Muss Bertolino Stadium in Kenner on Wednesday, March 16.
Coach Steve Krobert’s ’05 team jumped out to an insurmountable 12-1 halftime lead.
Senior Josh Cvitanovich scored twice as did juniors Briggs Lucia and Parker Simoneaux. Murret tallied four of the team’s 10 assists.
Sophomore Peyton Queyrouze scooped up five ground balls. Senior Sammy Martin and goalie Rob Hinyub each had four ground balls. Hinyub saved four shots in the crease.
The Jays, who have won the last four lacrosse state championships, are 3-0 in district competition. They return to action on Friday, March 18, against Rockhurst, a Jesuit high school in Kansas City, Missouri.
