Tennis Handles Holy Cross, Brother Martin Up Next
Jesuit’s tennis team cruised to a 7-0 shutout of Holy Cross on Tuesday, April 10 at the UNO Tennis Center.
Seniors Paul Myers and John Nuttli, playing in the final match of their high school careers, helped lead the way against the Tigers.
In singles, Nuttli picked up an 8-0 win on Line 4. He then teamed with Myers for an 8-0 win at Line 2 doubles.
Also picking up singles wins were junior David Nimmo (8-1 on Line 1), sophomore Wes Melito (8-3 on Line 2) and freshman David Webster (8-1 on Line 3).
Melito and Webster teamed up for an 8-0 win at Line 1 doubles. Nimmo teamed with freshman Nick Crockens on Line 3 for an 8-0 win as well.
Jesuit is now 8-0 in local dual meet competition. The Jays close out their regular season on Thursday against the league’s only other undefeated squad, the Brother Martin Crusaders. Match time is 4:00 p.m. at UNO.
