Track and Field Grabs Fourth Place Finish at District Meet

Junior Jacob Torres and senior Benton Moore compete in the 110 Hurdles.
After recovering from multiple injuries across the board, Jesuit’s track and field team left it all on the track at the District 9-5A track and field championship Thursday, April 19 at Tad Gormley Stadium. Scoring 92 points and taking a fourth place finish, the Blue Jays were just one point behind third-place finisher St. Augustine and twelve points behind second-place finisher Brother Martin. John Curtis won the meet with a score of 147.

With personal records (PR) and seasonal records (SR) abundant, several Blue Jays’ district performances earned them a chance to compete at the regional track meet by finishing fourth or higher. The Jays that will go on to compete at the regional meet on Thursday, April 26 at Hahnville High School are:
