Regular Order, Day 4

  • The Herpetology club will meet today during the first half of lunch in Room 228. 
  • The Classic Rock Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 203.
  • Jesuit’s Heavy Metal Society will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 313.
  • The varsity soccer team will compete in the COPA Acadiana Tournament in Lafayette tonight and on Saturday.

  • The 8th grade basketball team will compete in the Rummel Tournament this evening and on Saturday.

  • The newly formed Renaissance Men Club will meet today after school in the Commons.  The club will focus on craftsmanship and working with your hands.  All students are invited to join.
  • The varsity basketball team will face Slidell tonight in the semifinal round of the Allstate Sugar Bowl CYO Tournament in the gym with tipoff set for 6:00 p.m.  Should the Jays win tonight the team will advance to the tournament championship game on Saturday night in the gym with tipoff set for 7:00 p.m.
  • Members of next year’s varsity football team are reminded to report to the weight room next Tuesday immediately after school.
  • Top’s tip of the day: Having school spirit is great, displaying school spirit is even better.

Results:

  • The Debate Team recently competed at the Holy Cross Navy and Old Gold Debate Exhibition.  In a field of more than 50 teams from across 8 different states, the Jesuit Public Forum Team of Milan Mardia and Aqib Zakaria upset one of the tournament’s top seeds on their way to a 5th place finish.  Congratulations to the Debate Team!
  • On Tuesday, the basketball team opened play in the CYO basketball tournament with a win over St. Stanislaus. In the win, Myles Gordon pulled down 10 rebounds while Kyle Haupt had 5 assists. Elijah Morgan scored 19 and Noah Varnado added 12.  On Wednesday, the team defeated Fontainebleau 75-42 to move into the semi-finals tonight. Elijah led the way with 13, Nick Artigues had 12 and Kyle Haupt added 10.
