Wrestling Picks Up Dual Win Over Rummel, 61-9
The Jesuit High School (JHS) wrestling team picked up 12 wins, and seven pins, to defeat Archbishop Rummel High School (ARHS) in the first district dual meet of the 2018-19 season.
Jesuit was aggressive early in the road dual at Rummel, winning its first seven matches and beating opponents by fall in six of those seven. By the end of the dual, JHS had a dozen individual victories to Rummel’s two, including an exciting overtime win for 126-pound freshman Luke Ryan.

In His Words…
“I love the fact that we are underdogs every time we wrestle,” explained head coach Sheridan Moran. “People count us out every year, but that’s OK. We are focused on wins and losses, on progress, on getting better at understanding the sport, and on becoming better men in the process. Once our guys buy into the process, the wins will come. Last night’s dual showed me we’ve already gotten better, but there is still plenty of work to do.”
On the Horizon…
Next up for the wrestling team is the Border Wars tournament in South Walton, Fla., on Dec. 7-8. The next district dual will be at Brother Martin after the Christmas break.
