Tennis Posts Simultaneous Shutouts Against Rummel and Lusher
Jesuit’s tennis team dispatched two foes at one time on Tuesday, March 26 at the UNO Tennis Center, shutting out Rummel and Lusher by scores of 7-0.
The Jays went 11 deep into their 16-man rotation to field two squads for the 4:00 start.
Against the Raiders, seniors David Nimmo, Colin Meyer, and Cole LaCour blanked their opponents 8-0 in singles on Lines 1-3, respectively. Junior Luke Russo picked up the final singles win on Line 4, also by a score of 8-0. In doubles, LaCour and Meyer shut out their opponents on Line 1, while Nimmo and senior William Bostick closed out the match with an 8-1 win on Line 2. The Raiders forfeited on Line 3.
Against Lusher, junior standout Jojo Sandoz handled his business on Line 1 with an 8-1 win. Junior Sid Trouard, junior James Henican, and sophomore Nick Crockens rounded out singles play with 8-0 wins on Lines 2, 3, and Four. In doubles, the Jays notched three more 8-0 shutouts. Crockens and Henican took care of business on Line 1, as did Sandoz ond Trouard on Line Two. On Line 3, it was juniors Wes Melito and David Webster getting the win.
