LaCour Lands 1st Place and Team Grabs 2nd Place at Cross Country District Meet
Running through the crisp fall wind, senior Luke LaCour took home 1st at the District 9-5A championship on Thursday, Oct. 31, leading the Blue Jays to a strong 2nd-place overall finish. Holy Cross took third place, 15 points behind Jesuit, and Brother Martin claimed district champions undercutting Jesuit by just 14 points.
LaCour was not the only high-achieving Blue Jay, as junior Jack Wallace and sophomore Morgan Hebert both placed in the top 10 runners. Wallace and Hebert landed a 4th-place and 9th-place finish, respectively.

By the Numbers…
Each team ran its top seven runners. The first five runners from each team to cross the finish line receive the points that correspond to their place. The first place runner receives one point, the second place runner two, and so on. The team receiving the lowest score wins. The sixth and seventh runners on a team, although they don’t receive a score, can also be important, in that they can “displace” scoring runners from the other team.
