Terrific Turnout for Grandparents Day Mass

The Chapel of the North American Martyrs was absolutely full of students and their grandparents on Saturday, Dec. 14, for Jesuit’s annual Grandparents’ Day Mass.

The community celebrated the vigil Mass for Gaudete Sunday, and what a joyful occasion it was! Mass was celebrated by Jesuit president Fr. Christopher Fronk, S.J., who in his homily reminded the congregation that the joy that Christians aim for is the one that stems from the salvation that Christ brings.
Fr. Fronk was assisted on the altar by Fr. John Brown, S.J., Fr. David Paternostro, S.J., Fr. Donald Saunders, S.J., and Fr. Paul Shaughnessy, S.J. Jesuit’s choir provided musical accompaniment.
Afterward, attendees moved from the Chapel to the Student Commons for refreshments. Many even stayed to enjoy the annual Blue Jay Band Christmas Concert, which followed in the auditorium.
