Blue Jay Baseball is Back!
While the flooding and constant heat tried to keep the Jays away, head coach Kenneth Goodlett and the Retif Oil and Fuel American Legion Baseball team were out at John Ryan Stadium on June 10th to start their chase for an American Legion State Championship. The team, consisting of both current and graduating Jesuit players, was delighted to get back on the hot turf.
“I am more than excited to be back out here,” coach Goodlett said. “We have six seniors returning, and we are ready to get started.” With four senior players committing to play College baseball, the team is looking as prepared as ever for a terrific—if modified—season.
This year, the annually-played national tournament will only have a state component with games projected for the end of June.
With all the uncertainty in the world, one thing is for certain: baseball is back at Jesuit at John Ryan Stadium.
