Bass Fishing Team Competes in Jesuit’s First Ever LHSAA Tournament
This past weekend, Jesuit’s Bass Fishing team competed in the inaugural LHSAA state bass fishing championship. The up-and-coming Jesuit team grew out of the Jesuit Fishing Club, founded by current seniors Carter Morris and Jacob Reinhardt some four years ago when the two were freshman.
Sophomores Jason Thompson and Harry Reinhardt weighed in the most poundage for the Jays over the 2 day competition. Morris caught the biggest bass for Jesuit at just under 5 pounds; senior Jacob Reinhardt, freshman William Brooks, freshman Emerson Piacun, and pre-freshman Peter Marsiglia all put fish on the leaderboard.
The team, like the fishing club, is moderated by Jesuit director of student affairs Helen Swan. While the team hoped to participate in LHSAA competition last year, COVID-19 pushed the team’s first ever tournament to this April.
