After a long match that stretched into three overtime periods, the Jesuit soccer team fell 1-2 to Dutchtown on the pitch at Tad Gormley Stadium. After giving up a goal to the Griffins, Jesuit answered with a successful shot from junior Carter Dusang to bring the game to a tie.
With the score locked at 1-1 at the end of regulation, successful defense by both teams drove the game into overtime. In sudden-death triple overtime, one five-minute period before the game would have been decided by a shootout, Dutchtown punched a ball into the goal to abruptly close out the game.

With students showing up to Gormley to show their Blue Jay Spirit in spite of the chilly weather, the team was supported by an ever-energetic Gizzard student section. The game marked the end of the team’s strong 2022 season with the Jays accumulating a 16-2-6 record.
Now that the season has drawn to a close, coach Hubbie Collins will be looking to tap the enthusiasm and ability of his talented returning Jays to build on for next year.
