Blue Jays Hold Joint PSAT Prep and Football Pep Rally
In an outgrowth of an idiosyncratic annual tradition, Blue Jays from the football team and student council joined forces to hold a joint pep rally to gear up for both the PSAT and the middle of football season. Led by seniors Dominic Logiudice and Wade Rogers, the second half of lunch was transformed into a celebration of both athletics and academics complete with over-the-top cheers and chants.
The event signifies the student body’s characteristically high regard for academic accomplishments. Over the past 30 years, over a 1,000 students have been honored as National Merit Semifinalists based on their PSAT performance—by far the most in the state.
The pep rally was also attended by over 40 German exchange students from Clavius-Gymnasium in Bamberg, Germany, who performed a special concert for the entire student body later that afternoon. Photos of the concert performance to follow soon.
