Bowling Secures First Catholic League Championship
Just days after the team beat Slidell 21-6 by rallying back from a 100-pin late-match deficit, Blue Jay bowlers have even more to celebrate.
With a 24-3 senior game victory over Holy Cross, the Jesuit bowling team (11-1) secured its first Catholic League championship. The historic accomplishment comes at the end of a regular season in which Jesuit bowlers handily toppled every Catholic League opponent under the leadership of coach Todd Bourgeois ’88.
”I’m proud of this team, the hard work they’ve put in, and especially the growth that these seniors have shown over their years as part of this organization,” Bourgeois said. ”The support from our bowling parents and families has been a big part of our team’s culture, and we’re looking forward to what is still to come.”
The team’s senior leaders include Will Adams, Ethan Benoit, Will Carpenter, and Preston Roark.
The bowling team now enters the post season, during which Blue Jays will face off against schools from across the state. The times and locations of these matchups will be available soon.
