As the curtains drew open on Thursday, May 23, two hundred thirty graduates proudly sat on stage at the Pontchartrain Center for the Class of 2024 commencement ceremony. Jesuit principal, Peter Kernion ’90, embarked on his final commencement exercise as the evening’s master of ceremonies. The ceremony began with a prayer led by chaplain Fr. Jon Polce, S.J.

The Blue Jay Parents’ Club Award

The Blue Jay Parents’ Club Award for excellence in scholarship was awarded to the seniors who graduated with the highest grade point average for four years at Jesuit High School. This year the award was merited by seven seniors: Mason K. Becker, Charles E. Garitty, Jonathan Z. Jordan, Preston H. Kuehne, Brady J. Luminais, Kerth P. Metzinger, David A. Paul (valedictorian).

To close the ceremony, Fr. John Brown, S.J., gave his final remarks, encouraging the graduates to go into the world and continue serving for the greater glory of God in a time when the community and the nation needs Godly men more than ever. The Blue Jay Band led everyone in attendance in the Alma Mater, and the graduates sang the together one last time as a class.
