Alongside lay faculty and staff members, the world-class Jesuit education that students receive on Carrollton & Banks is enhanced and guided by a significant number of Jesuit priests and brothers who live on campus—a major separating factor for Jesuit amongst its local peers. While these members of the Society of Jesus bring to bear their own backgrounds and skills for Jesuit’s mission, they all contribute to forming students into men of faith and men for others.

Recently, Fr. Roy Joseph, S.J., was introduced to the school community at an all-school Mass. He will be working in the Office of Evangelization, providing pastoral and sacramental support to students and faculty.

Fr. Joseph grew up in Georgia with his parents and three brothers. He pursued his education in the Atlanta area and Europe, earning a degree in medicine. Fr. Joseph entered the Society of Jesus in Grand Coteau just before Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

He later studied philosophy at Loyola University Chicago, where he earned a master’s degree in applied philosophy with a focus on health care ethics. During his regency, he taught at Strake Jesuit in Houston and subsequently received his Master of Divinity degree from Boston College.

Fr. Joseph is a bi-ritual priest in the Latin and Syro-Malabar Rites. After his ordination in 2016, he served as a parish priest at the Jesuit parish in Denver and as a retreat director at the Jesuit retreat house outside Dallas. His school ministry experience includes chaplaincy, teaching science and theology, leading retreats, guiding mission trips, and facilitating adult faith formation.
