Regular Order, Day 4

  • The varsity football team will face John Curtis on Friday night at The Shrine with kickoff set for 7:00.  Pre-sale tickets are $10.00 for adults and non-Jesuit students and $5.00 each for children (ages 6-11).  Pre-sale tickets are available for purchase at the front desk daily until 3:30.  All tickets purchased at the gate are $15.00 each.  Blue Jay fans should enter the complex via Tom Benson Way and park in Lot E.  Parking is $10.00 per vehicle.  Enter the stadium at Gate #3.  We are the visiting team for this game.  Parking, concessions, and tickets purchased at the gate are cashless.
  • October is known in Japan as “the month without gods” because it’s believed that the gods travel from throughout the country to meet during this month in the Grand Shrine of Izumo. Mr. Trosclair recently visited this ancient shrine while on a cultural exchange trip with the Japan Society of New Orleans. He will be speaking about Matsue and his visit to our sister city today during lunch in the first-floor conference room of the Madonna della Strada building. Students interested in Japan are encouraged to attend and are welcome to bring their lunch.
  • NCAA games will start today in the Commons. Bring money to the game to be able to participate. Games are LSU vs Old Dominion, Utah vs Florida State, and Miami vs Arkansas.
  • With the World Series set between the Dodgers and Yankees, come discuss how Ohtani and Judge will impact the series at the SABR (Society of American Baseball Research) meeting today during the first half of lunch in Room 331.
  • Any sophomores interested in trying out for baseball team should meet today during the first half of lunch in the baseball locker room.
  • The Creative Writing Club will meet today during the first half of lunch in Room 116.
  • The Jesuit Men of Color will meet today during the first half of lunch in Room 210.
  • The Pro-Life club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 316.
  • All students interested in attending the March for Life in Washington, DC, should see Mrs. de Boisblanc or Mr. Delatte as soon as possible to pick up a registration form. The due date for registration is Monday, Nov. 4.
  • The Pelicans tipped off their season last night, the World Series begins tomorrow, and LSU plays Texas A&M on Saturday. Should we officially place the Saints in the rearview mirror? Discuss this and more in today’s Sports Analysis Club during the second half of lunch in Room 231.
  • The Pokémon Club will have an informational session today during the second half of lunch in Room 419.
  • The 8th grade football team will play at John Curtis this afternoon starting at 4:15.  The 9th grade game follows at 5:30.

  • Intramural basketball registration is open on IMleagues. 8th graders must register by homeroom. Any team with an inappropriate name’s members will receive a PH. Instructions on how to sign up are on the student life page on Canvas.
  • The next Paintball Club outing will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2. Permission forms are available outside the ROTC office. See Master Gunnery Sergeant Piseno with questions.
  • Calling all sophomores, juniors, and seniors who want to be tour guides for Open House.  We can really use your help welcoming new Blue Jay families on Nov. 6. Come to a tour guide training today during either the first or second half of lunch in the auditorium. If you are a big brother you are automatically a tour guide and look forward to seeing you there.
  • Admissions representatives from Holy Cross College and Union College will be available today during lunch in the College Counseling suite.
