Blue Jay Spirit was alive and vibrant as nearly 500 prospective families from across the metro area gathered at Carrollton & Banks for Jesuit’s Open House. Prospective Blue Jays and their families explored the campus, delved into the school’s classically grounded academic program, and met Jesuit’s exceptional teachers, coaches, and staff while entertained by performances from the Blue Jay Jazz Band, Philelectic Society, Jayettes, and Cheerleaders.

The admissions team, Director of Enrollment Theresa Truxillo, Director of Admissions Jonathan Hernandez ’00, and Admissions Officer Matthew Firmin ’10 hosted a warm welcome and lively evening for prospective Blue Jays. Events began in the auditorium where parents and prospective students heard inspiring words from Fr. John Brown, S.J., principal Jeremy Reuther ’01, Spanish teacher Richard Williams ’14, and student body president senior Wilson Frischhertz. Their speeches focused on Jesuit’s mission, academic excellence, and the essence of being a Blue Jay.

Student tour guides led families through Jesuit’s halls and classrooms, where guests engaged with current students, alumni, faculty, and staff who shared insights on Jesuit’s robust  academic program, co-curricular activities, spiritual Catholic formation, and dynamic student life. The guidance and college counseling departments were also highlighted, showcasing the comprehensive support available to students. In addition to touring the main campus building, attendees crossed Banks Street to visit the Benson Arena and the Louis J. Roussel Building, where Jesuit’s athletic teams, players, and coaches welcomed them.

The event also featured numerous engaging activities: the Bass Fishing Club hosted rod and reel demonstrations, while the science lab presented several exciting experiments. Basketball and wrestling showcased live practices, and football workouts took place in the weight room. The MJROTC mingled with students, the Ice Cream Social Club handed out samples of their latest flavor creations, and the intramurals team provided information on thrilling opportunities. Jayson engaged attendees for pictures with his clever poses around campus. The evening culminated in the Student Commons, where guests enjoyed a signature Jesuit chicken sandwich as an evening snack while browsing the athletic teams’ tables, which proudly displayed uniforms, trophies, players, and coaches.
