Jesuit Celebrates 2024 Homecoming Court
During halftime at the football game against Rummel, Jesuit formally presented the 2024 Homecoming Court. The celebration featured performances by the Jayettes, the MCJROTC, and the Blue Jay Band, each adding their unique talents to the occasion.
Fr. John Brown, S.J., crowned the homecoming queen, Arabella Hinyub, who was elected by the senior class, adding another layer of excitement to a night already filled with anticipation.
Will Allen and Arabella Hinyub
Will Allen stands out at Jesuit as the secretary of the Student Council and a letterman on the varsity football and track teams. He participates in IKON, Sodality, Ducks Unlimited, Big Brother, and the National Honor Society. Notably, Allen raised over $63,000 for leukemia cancer research as a Student Visionary of the Year. He plans to major in Southern Studies at the University of Mississippi and pursue law. His court partner, Arabella Hinyub, is a senior at Mount Carmel Academy, where she is a Eucharistic Minister and co-captain of the Carmelette Dance Team. Hinyub is involved in various organizations, including the National Honor Society and Mount Carmel Against Destructive Decisions, and plans to study Broadcast Journalism and attend law school.
Connor Donelly and Mary-Katherine Werling
Connor Donelly is active at Jesuit as a member of the varsity baseball team, the Sports Analysis Club, and the National Honor Society. He plans to major in journalism with aspirations of becoming a sports journalist. His court partner, Mary-Katherine Werling, is a senior at St. Mary’s Dominican High School, where she serves as vice-president of the National English Honor Society. Werling also participates in soccer and gymnastics teams and is involved in the Student Council, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Campus Ministry, and the Spanish Club. She aims to pursue a career in nursing or medicine.
Bodi Harris and Cecile Guste
Bodi Harris leads at Jesuit as the captain of the state championship-winning varsity wrestling team and participates in the Ice-Cream Social and Investment Clubs. He aspires to become a commercial pilot. His court partner, Cecile Guste, is a senior at Mount Carmel Academy, where she is active in the track and gymnastics teams. Guste is also involved in Come Lord Jesus, Christian Life Community, Teens for Life, Campus Ministry, Eco Cubs, Mount Carmel Academy Against Destructive Decisions, and Peer Ministry.
Jack Heslin and Millie McDaniel
Jack Heslin is an active member of Jesuit’s state championship-winning varsity wrestling team, serves as a Student Council homeroom representative, and participates in the Ice Cream Social. He plans to study finance at Louisiana State University. His court partner, Millie McDaniel, is a senior at Mount Carmel Academy, where she serves as vice president of the Student Council and a leader of Come Lord Jesus. McDaniel is also involved in the Christian Life Community, Teens for Life, Mount Carmel Against Destructive Decisions, and Campus Ministry. She aims to attend either Louisiana State University or the University of Mississippi.
Joseph Pourciau and Mia Pacacio
Joseph Pourciau serves as the senior class representative-at-large at Jesuit and is a member of Sodality, the beach volleyball team, and the Investment Club. He is also recognized as a National Merit Semifinalist. His court partner, Mia Pacacio, is a senior at Mount Carmel Academy, where she participates in the Book Club and Christian Life Community. Pacacio is also a veteran member of Jesuit’s award-winning Jayettes Dance Team and aspires to attend law school.
Harris Treuting and Audrey Brown
Harris Treuting is a member of Jesuit’s state championship-winning varsity wrestling team and serves as executive aide on the Student Council Executive Board. He plans to attend Clemson University to study pre-med. His court partner, Audrey Brown, is a senior at Mount Carmel Academy and participates in the National Honor Society, Latin National Honor Society, Come Lord Jesus, Teens for Life, Christian Leadership Club, and Campus Ministry. Brown is also the captain of the Jesuit Cheer Team and aims to attend the University of Georgia to major in psychology.
Austin Vidrine and Caroline Garitty
Austin Vidrine is active at Jesuit as a member of Big Brother, Peer Support, and the Spanish Club. Outside of school, he coaches his younger brother’s sports teams and plans to attend Louisiana State University to major in sports administration or communications. His court partner, Caroline Garitty, is a senior at Mount Carmel Academy and participates in the Science Olympiad, TEAMS, National Honor Society, Latin National Honor Society, Ambassadors, Mu Alpha Theta, and Mount Carmel Cubs Against Destructive Decisions. A National Merit Commended Scholar, Garitty is also co-captain of Jesuit’s award-winning Jayettes Dance Team and plans to study nursing at Louisiana State University.
