Mass Day Order, Day 4
- All cross country, football, and swimming lettermen should report to the weight room tomorrow at the beginning of the lunch period for lettermen jacket measurements and stripe distribution.
- The Order of St Joseph will pray its weekly rosary today during the first half of lunch in the small chapel.
- The 8th grade soccer team will host Mandeville Jr. High this evening at John Ryan Stadium starting at 5:30.
- Students going on the March for Life must meet tomorrow during the second half of lunch in St. Ignatius Hall.
- The Mock Trial Team will hold an organizational meeting Wednesday at 6:15 pm in Room 122.
Results:
- On Saturday, the Quiz Bowl team competed in the Mount Carmel Invitational Tournament. Even down a player, the all-senior team of Carter Rigney, Erich Smith, and Mack Thomas finished in 2nd place. Erich Smith was the top individual scorer at the tournament.
- Over the weekend, Jesuit sent a delegation of 9 students to participate in the YMCA 2024 Louisiana Youth Legislature Conference. Jesuit had various successes. Junior Everett Kramer was elected President of the Senate for the 2025 Youth Legislature Conference. Junior Derek Moore authored a bill that successfully passed committee, house, and senate votes before being signed into law by the Youth Governor. Honorable mention honors were earned by Freshman Rahm Sus, whoauthored a bill that successfully passed committee, house, and senate votes before ultimately being vetoed by the Youth Governor.
- The wrestling team had 70 Blue Jays compete in 4 events in 2 states this weekend. One team headed to Border Wars tournament in South Walton, Florida, where Christopher Stricker, Neils Bennett, Grant Carroll, and Gage Grilletta all placed in the top 6. Jude Levy won the championship at the Mandeville Open on Saturday and Jackson Landry and Benjamin Pullen both finished 4th.
- The Varsity lineup competed in the Trygg/Sara Invitational at Rummel on Friday and Saturday and came home with the team championship defeating Brother Martin and Brother Rice of Chicago by over 70 points. Michael Barnett, Max Belsome, Bodi Harris, Jose Rincon, Isaac Orillion, and Harris Treuting all walked away as individual champions. Brady Hunter, Quinn Anderson, Luke Cannizzaro, and Griffin Ellis all finished in 2nd place. JP Webre, Wyatt Mire, and Cam Himel finished in 3rd place. Congratulations, wrestlers.
