Regular Order, Day 7

  • Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place today until 3 pm in the 2nd floor chapel.
  • The Anime Club will meet today during all of lunch in Room 116 to watch Vinland Saga.
  • The Classic Rock Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 203.
  • The varsity soccer team will host Ponchatoula in the opening round of the state playoffs this afternoon at John Ryan Stadium starting at 3:45.  Admission is $10.00 for adults and students (non-participating schools) and $5.00 for Jesuit students with ID and children (ages 6-11).
  • The varsity basketball team will play at John Curtis tonight with tip off set for 7:00.  The jv game begins at 5:45, while the 9th grade game starts at 4:30.
  • The jv basketball team will compete in the E.D. White Tournament on Saturday.
  • The 8th grade basketball team will play at St. Augustine on Saturday facing the Purple Knights at 9:00 and Brother Martin at 12:00.
  • The junior high wrestling team will host and compete in the Jesuit Scramble this evening in the Benson Arena starting at 5:00.
  • The jv wrestling team will host and compete in the Jesuit JV Tournament on Saturday in the Benson Arena starting at 9:00.
  • The rugby team will face Okapi Rugby in Miami (FL) on Saturday.
  • The jv powerlifting team will compete in the Shaw Meet on Saturday.
  • The varsity baseball team will scrimmage St. Paul’s on Saturday afternoon at Mike Miley starting at 4:00.

Results:

  • This week, the Academic Games team participated in the New Orleans League Presidents tournament. Junior Ethan Nguyen finished second place in the senior high division.
  • The Philelectic Society competed in its first ever Louisiana State Thespian Festival this past weekend and stunned audiences with a 20 minute snippet of their Fall production, The World Goes Round.  Many Phils also competed in individual events and three of those events scored the highest possible score of 4 (Superior). 
    • For their Group Acting Scene – Logan Marcel, Thomas Hughes and James Vaicius, along with three female Phils scored superior. 
    • For their Group Musical Performance, David Hulefeld, Nate Costantini, Keshaun Tervalon, and Liam Van Vranken along with 2 female Phils scored Superior. 
    • Lastly, for his Solo Musical Performance, Nate Costantini scored Superior.
