As the wrestling team heads to the LHSAA Division I State Wrestling Tournament, anticipation is high for a possible third consecutive championship under the guidance of head coach Jon Orillion ’01. The Blue Jays are poised for success, boasting six of the top ten seeded wrestlers in their respective weight classes. The team enters the competition with eleven wrestlers seeded in the top six and five wrestlers seeded in the top two, more than any other team, positioning them favorably for top placements.

The wrestlers and their seeds are as follows: freshman William Roniger is seeded 9th at 106 lbs, while junior Michael Barnett holds the 1st seed at 113 lbs. At 120 lbs, junior Max Belsome is the 2nd seed, and senior Bodi Harris is the top seed at 126 lbs. Senior Jose Rincon is seeded 2nd at 132 lbs, and senior Conrad Robinson competes at 138 lbs. At 144 lbs, junior Christopher Stricker is the 7th seed, and sophomore Isaac Orillion is the 3rd seed at 150 lbs. Senior Wyatt Mire is seeded 6th at 157 lbs, junior Quinn Anderson wrestles at 165 lbs, and senior Harris Treuting is the 2nd seed at 175 lbs. Senior Cam Himel is seeded 3rd at 190 lbs, senior Caden Sanderson is 6th at 215 lbs, and senior Griffin Ellis rounds out the lineup as the 4th seed at 285 lbs.

“This season we challenged our Blue Jays with a tougher schedule, and they responded well. A lot of success has come the team’s way, and now is the time to draw confidence from that success and the hard work put in to finish strong at the State Tournament. I look forward to seeing our seniors lead us through the finish line. The team is in good hands with our captains Bodi Harris, Jose Rincon, and Wyatt Mire leading the way.” – Coach Orillion

As the Blue Jays prepare to compete, they carry the momentum of a successful season and the determination to uphold Jesuit’s legacy of excellence in wrestling. You can support the Blue Jays this weekend in Bossier City or on the live stream below.
