Regular Order, Day 3

  • Join the Society of St. Joseph in praying the rosary today during the first half of lunch in the second floor chapel.
  • The Quiz Bowl team will meet immediately after school today in Room 411 to play the KMO computer tournament.
  • The JMOC will host Ms. Joseph, Founder of OperaCreole, for a talk titled “Opera is New Orleans Black History” Wednesday during lunch in St. Ignatius Hall. All are invited to attend. 
  • Jesuit students and girls from Catholic schools are invited to attend the Campus Ministry Night Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 pm. There will be games, Adoration, and confession. Food and drinks will be provided.

Results:

  • The Jesuit Lacrosse team had a dominate win Saturday Night in their Season Opener. Seniors Alex Barnett and Cole Couvillon both had hat tricks. Junior Max Sutherlin added 2 more goals, while Blake Couvillon, adam Talbot, Coleman Edwards, and Jackson Anders each added one of their own. The defense stood strong with lockdown defense from Tavo Rivera, Brighton Penado and Austin Indest. Goalie Henry Aucoin was stopping everything in the cage with 14 saves.
  • On Friday, The basketball team defeated Warren Easton 80-44 to conclude district play. Brewer Nitcher led all scorers with 26 ponts, Zachary LaGraize added 12, while Anthony Montalbano and Ben Cimini each scored 9. Brennan Pitts added to the offensive output with 5 assists. 
  • On Friday, the varsity team defeated Ponchatoula 4-1.  Calvin Magee was the winning pitcher.  Magee pitched four innings and struck out 6 batters.  Beau Matulewski pitched three solid innings in relief and had two strikeouts.  Collin Donnelly went 3-3 and Harry Leche had two hits.  
  • On Saturday, the varsity baseball team beat Covington 6-3.  Connor Donnelly was the winning pitcher.  Donnelly pitched five strong innings.  Jackson Dugan pitched two shutout innings in relief.  Michael Brothers went 3-4 with two RBI”s.  
  • Last Saturday, the Quiz Bowl team competed in the Mandeville High School Open Tournament. The team of Grady Miles, Arthur Meade, Henry Dimm, and Thatcher Slaughter finished in 2nd place. Grady Miles was the 2nd-highest individual scorer, and James Redmann was the top individual scorer.
