Regular Order, Day 1

  • Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place today until 3 pm in the 2nd floor chapel.
  • The St. Joseph Society will be having a guided discussion led by Dr. Delio today during the second half of lunch in Room 120.
  • The J-Troupe, Jesuit’s elite Improv Comedy team, will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 202.
  • The Classic Rock Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 203.
  • The Anime Club will meet today during all of lunch in Room 116 to watch Bleach.
  • The varsity baseball team will host De La Salle this afternoon at John Ryan Stadium with first pitch set for 4:00.  On Lundi Gras the team will host Shaw at John Ryan Stadium starting at 2:00.
  • Student Council Executive Board Candidate Forms are available in the Student Activities Office and on Canvas. Completed forms are due on March 11. 
  • Mardi Gras beads will be collected after the break to be donated to St. Michael School for recycling. The bead drive will run from March 10 through March 19.
  • The varsity basketball team will host the winner of tonight’s Brother Martin vs. Holy Cross bi-district playoff game in the regional round of the state playoffs on Mardi Gras night in the Benson Arena with tip off set for 6:00 p.m.  Admission is $10.00 for adults and students (non-participating schools) and $5.00 each for children (ages 6-11) and students (participating schools) with ID.
  • There will be no after school food service in the cafe today 

Results:

  • The Ultimate Frisbee team beat Brother Martin 9-5 this past Saturday. Congratulations.
  • The tennis team won the Parkview invitational Tennis Tournament overall this past weekend in Baton Rouge. Team A defeated Barb, St. Thomas Moore, and Brother Martin. Team B defeated Live Oak, Catholic, and Brother Martin.  In addition, the tennis team so far has defeated Rummel, Willow, Country Day, and Haynes in district. 
  • Jesuit’s bowling team got its toughest test of the season Monday, but rallied in the final game for a 17-10 victory over Holy Cross at Bowlero Kenner. Jonathan Cho led the Blue Jays with a 655 series, followed by Grant Gehring’s 630. 
  • On Wednesday, the varsity baseball team defeated Lakeshore 9-0.  Jake Moreci was the winning pitcher and struck out eight batters.  Michael Brothers went 2-3 and hit a triple.  Marshal Serio and Ryan Saunders each hit a double.  
  • The Jesuit Lacrosse team was victorious over St. Paul’s this past Wednesday night. The offense was clicking on all cylinders with hat tricks from Wilson Frischhertz, Zac Raymond, and Alex Barnett. Defenders Tavo Rivera, Luke Combel, Max Sutherlin, and Brighton Penado kept the goal safe, as senior goalie, Henry Aucoin stopped everything that got through the defense. The final score was Jesuit 10 – St. Paul’s 7 leaving the lacrosse team with a record of 4-0 on the season so far.
