Regular Order, Day 6

  • The Faculty Auction benefitting the Mission Drive is available today. Visit the table in the Commons during lunch through April 2 to place your bid. Keep in mind that bidding is competitive, so check back to make sure you’re the lead for any items you hope to win.
  • Jesuit students and girls from Catholic schools are invited to attend the Campus Ministry Night this Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 pm. There will be games, a talk by Mrs. D, Adoration, and Confession. Food and drinks will be provided.
  • Jesuit is sponsoring a blood drive on Thursday, April 10, in the Commons. Students must be at least 16 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. You can sign up in homeroom or with Mrs. Tassin in Room 317. Please sign up by this Friday.
  • T-Shirts for Carrollton clash are now available for purchase. Find the link on the canvas homepage and the Jesuit student life Instagram. Make sure to get the Blue Shirt.
  • Join the Society of St. Joseph in praying the rosary today during the first half of lunch in the second floor chapel.
  • The golf team will face Fisher this afternoon at Stonebridge starting at 4:00.
  • The jv baseball game will face John Curtis at Harahan this afternoon starting at 4:30.
  • The 8th grade baseball team plays at Brother Martin this afternoon starting at 4:30.
  • The bowling team will face St. Amant in the Regional Round of the state playoffs tomorrow at Bowlero Lanes in Kenner starting at 1:00.  Should the team emerge victorious they will face the winner of Captain Shreve and Denham Springs later that afternoon at Bowlero starting at 3:15.
  • Students interested in serving breakfast this week at Grace at the Greenlight should see Mr. Delatte in Room 127 as soon as possible.
  • Friday will be another Fresh Kicks Friday. Amongst homerooms that were rewarded Fresh Kicks last week, the threshold for a second Fresh Kicks Friday will be $350.  For those homerooms yet to reach $200, you will be granted a Fresh Kicks holiday on Friday should you reach $200 by Thursday. For any questions regarding this, please see Mr. Delatte.
  • Today kicks off intramural All Star week. Today during lunch in Benson Arena is the 3-point contest. It is open to all for a  minimum $5 donation to the mission drive. The winner will be announced at assembly on Friday and get a championship shirt. Tomorrow during lunch is the junior vs senior All Star game in Benson Arena and the freshman championship game in the 3rd floor gym.

Results:

  • The Jesuit Lacrosse team defeated Newman 9-7 last Wednesday night. Senior Goalie Henry Aucoin stood on his head with 18 saves. Brighton Penado, Tavo Rivera, and Max Sutherlin played lock down defense to keep the Jays on top. Blake Couvillion fought hard all night at the faceoff x securing the Jays possession after possession. Wilson Frischhertz, Alex Barnett, and Zac Raymond scored two goals apiece. Cannon More, Colt Carter, and Blake Couvillion scoring one of their own. The Jays advance to 6-0 on the season.
  • Congratulations to the Jesuit golf team for wins over Belle Chasse, John Curtis, and Rummel last week. Low rounds of the week were shot by sophomore Duke Nitcher and junior Nelson Bensel who both shot one under par rounds of 35.   Junior William Boasberg carded a stellar round of even par 36.
