Today is Friday, April 4, 2025

Regular Order, Day 2

  • Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place today until 3 pm in the 2nd floor chapel.
  • There will be no confessions during lunch today.
  • Individuals signed up for the chess tournament should check their emails daily to be informed of match-ups and scheduling.
  • The Anime Club will meet today during all of lunch in Room 116 to watch Frieren.
  • The Classic Rock Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 203.
  • Today’s FIFA games have been moved to Monday.
  • Freshman who chose art must attend a meeting today during the first half of lunch in St. Ignatius Hall.
  • The varsity track and field team will compete in the Thibodaux Invitational this afternoon and evening.
  • The varsity rugby team plays at St. Paul’s on Saturday starting at 10:00.
  • The varsity lacrosse team will host Gulf Breeze (FL) this evening at Muss Bertilino starting at 7:00.
  • The jv baseball team will play at St. Paul’s this evening starting at 5:00.
  • The 8th grade baseball team plays at Northshore on Saturday starting at 10:00.
  • The varsity baseball team will host Warren Easton on Saturday at John Ryan Stadium with first pitch set for 11:00.  Senior Day ceremonies will take place following the game.
  • Today is Fresh kicks Friday. Each student in these homerooms who have qualified for fresh kicks will be given a wristband. Homeroom teachers are reminded that only those students wearing fresh kicks should receive wristbands. Every student wearing fresh kicks must have the wristband on the entire school day. The wristband will indicate they are allowed to wear the shoes and will not be given a PH for being out of dress code. Any student not wearing the proper wristband and wearing fresh kicks will receive a PH.

Results:

  • The Jesuit Beach Volleyball Squad continued its district dominance with a sweep of Brother Martin on Wednesday. All doubles teams won their matches in two games. Next up for the Jays is the playoff tournament at White Sands on April 16th. 
  • The Jesuit lacrosse team dominated on Senior Night winning 19-4 over Brother Martin. The offense was led by Wilson Frischhertz and Zac Raymond, with 7 goals each. Additionally, Alex Barnett added to the score with 2 goals. Cannon Mohr, Colt Carter, Miles Couvillion, and Cole Couvillion scored one each. Henry Auction along side Brighton Penado, Tavo Rivera, and Max Sutherlin kept the Crusaders to only 4 goals.
  • Luke Cunningham competed at the State Powerlifting meet this past weekend finishing 10th overall among all 5A lifters. Luke’s combined total was 1450 lbs. Both a personal best and school record. 
  • The Jesuit bowling team is in the semifinals for the first time since 2014 after dominant wins over St. Amant, 21-6, and defending champion Denham Springs, 22-5. Against St. Amant five Jesuit starters had series of 600 or better, led by Jacob Rudloff’s 683 series and 267 middle game from the No. 2 spot. Grant Gehring (656), Jonathan Cho (648), Joseph Anderson (638) and Jack Lousteau (622) followed right behind. Against Denham Springs, Nicholas Womble’s 672 series led the way in the win, followed by Cho closed with a 256 for a 668 set.
  • Congratulations to the Jesuit Golf Team who scored three victories this week including a 146 to 172 victory against the Holy Cross Tigers.  Low rounds of the week were shot by Sophomore Duke Nitcher and Freshmen Brooks Blanchard who fired stellar rounds of one under par 35.  Junior William Boasberg also fired a fine round of even par 36.  Special congratulations goes out to eight grader William Benton who made a hole in one on the par three eight hole at English Turn.
