Blue Jay Bazaar Shines in Blue and White

Despite forecasts of rain and a last-minute date change, the Blue Jay Bazaar unfolded without a hitch under clear, sunny skies. Hundreds of Jesuit families—parents, students, faculty, and alumni—draping the campus in blue and white. Incoming pre-freshmen arrived in strong numbers, infusing the Bazaar with fresh Blue Jay spirit.
The festivities opened with a warm welcome led by Director of Institutional Advancement Christian Bautista ’06 and the Blue Jay Band. Guests enjoyed an array of food, live music, and games. Performances were offered by Paper Chase, the Blue Jay Jazz Band, the Jayettes, the cheerleaders, and the J-Troupe Improv Comedy Club. One highlight of the day was a standout performance by the Philelectic Society, which captivated attendees with a preview from their upcoming spring musical, Newsies.
The event also featured the fourth annual Laissez Les Bons Temps Blue Jay Cook-Off, where four teams from the community prepared and presented creative culinary offerings. Attendees sampled each dish and voted for their favorites. The Crème de la Crème accolade was awarded to student council’s “Team Jesuit Gizzard” whose members impressed with their standout Sicilian meatball dish, while the Krewe de la Crème honor went to “Carbar Catering,” led by Granville Morse ’89, for their exceptional creation, the BBQ Bomb.
