Season of Fairway Success

Golf enjoyed a standout season, compiling an impressive 12–1 record that reflected consistent determination and teamwork. Earlier in the season, the Blue Jays claimed victories against Belle Chasse, John Curtis, and Rummel. Sophomore Duke Nitcher and junior Nelson Bensel both posted low rounds of one-under-par 35, while junior William Boasberg turned in an even-par round of 36. The team celebrated a 157–171 win over Holy Cross, highlighted by Bensel’s even-par round of 36. In a tight contest, the team secured a 158–162 victory over Brother Martin, with freshman Brooks Blanchard posting a clutch one-over-par 37. In a subsequent 146–172 win over Holy Cross, Nitcher and Blanchard both recorded one-under-par rounds of 35, while Boasberg again contributed an even-par 36. Special recognition goes to pre-freshman William Benton, who achieved a hole-in-one on the par-three eight at English Turn. Additional recent wins include a 150–200 victory over St. Aug and a 160–177 win over Fischer.
In a nearly undefeated season, the team’s steady performance earned them Catholic League District co-champion honors with Brother Martin. The regular season concludes Thursday, April 10, against Shaw at English Turn.

The Blue Jays now look ahead to the District Championship Tournament April 21–23 at Chateau Country Club, with hopes of advancing to the Regional Tournament at Beau Chene on April 28.
