Regular Order, Day 4

  • The Philelectic Society proudly presents Disney’s Newsies—continuing tonight through Saturday at 7 PM, with a matinee on Saturday at 2 PM in the auditorium. Students, bring your school ID to the show and receive two free tickets. Look for the separate student line when you arrive. Hot dogs, soft pretzels, and other treats will be sold at intermission. Come support your classmates and enjoy a night of incredible storytelling. 
  • The Carrollton Clash will take place today from 4-6pm in the Benson Arena. Come out and support the Jays as they compete for the Carrollton Clash trophy against their rival Dominican High School.
  • Students who are serving, reading, or leading at the Stations of the Cross for the Penance Service today, please report directly to the Martyrs Chapel (third floor) for your theology class. Your teacher will be notified of your absence.
  • For those interested in fasting today by means of only bread and water, the Evangelization Team will have bread available for a minimal purchase in the Campus Ministry Room during lunch. Proceeds go to the Mission Drive.
  • The FiFA tournament will conclude today. The semifinals will take place during the first half of lunch with the finals immediately after. The semifinals matchups are Man City vs. Villareal and Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid. 
  • The Anime Club will meet today during all of lunch in Room 116 to watch Mushishi.
  • The Classic Rock Club will meet today and take its yearbook picture promptly at the start of the second half of lunch in Room 203. 
  • Members of Mu Alpha Theta will meet Monday during the second half of lunch in St. Ignatius Hall. If you are unable to attend this meeting, you will need to email  Mrs. Brauner for your information and requirements for end of the year.
  • The varsity rugby team will face Lake Travis in the Varsity Cup Texas League playoffs in Houston tonight.
  • The varsity track and field team will compete in the Chubby Marks Invitational this afternoon and evening at Tad Gormley.
  • The varsity baseball team will host St. Augustine on Saturday afternoon at John Ryan Stadium with first pitch set for 3:30.
  • The jv baseball team will host St. Augustine this evening in a doubleheader at John Ryan Stadium starting at 5:30.
  • The 9th grade baseball team will host St. Augustine on Saturday at John Ryan Stadium starting at 11:00.
  • The 8th grade baseball team plays at Northshore tonight starting at 7:00.  The team plays at Rummel on Saturday starting at 11:00.

Results:

  • The Junior Varity Baseball Team won three games this past week, defeating Brother Martin 5-2, John Curtis 4-1, and St. Paul’s 5-0.  Against Brother Martin Logan Nelson was the winning pitcher, giving up only one earned run, while Declan Albro and Harrison Serio closed the game in relief.  Offensively, Brennan Chaix, Harrison Serio, and Logan Nelson each had 2-out RBI hits. Against Curtis, Noah Casey was the winning pitcher, holding Curtis to only 1 run over 5 innings.  Logan Nelson earned the save in relief.  Jason Fibble had 3 hits, and Julian Alvarado and Harrison Serio contributed key hits to produce 3 runs in the 6th inning to provide the winning margin. Finally, against St. Paul’s, the BlueJayVees pounded out 9 hits, including multi-hit games from Jason Fibble, Harrison Serio, and Logan Nelson.  BlueJayVee pitchers Harrison Serio, Declan Albro, and Davis Hebert were dominant on the mound, combining to strike out 10 batters in the 7-inninng shutout.
  • On Saturday, the varsity baseball team defeated Warren Easton.  Calvin Magee and Zack Frilouxboth pitched in the shutout.  Brandon Thomas, Ryan Saunders, Jake Moreci, and Harry Leche each had multiple hits.
