The Jayettes dance team will host tryouts for the 2019-2020 team. All those interested in trying out for the squad must also attend a mandatory workshop prior to tryouts. Tryouts are for girls entering or attending an all Catholic High School from 8th to 12th grade as well as daughters of former Jayettes.

Mandatory Tryouts Workshop

Date: Friday, April 5, 2019

Location: Jesuit High School Gymnasium

Time: 3:30 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.

Details: Upon arrival, everyone will be required to fill out a Jayette Registration Form and turn in a registration fee. Download and print the form and fill it out ahead of time. Candidates for the 2019-2020 Jayettes dance team will be assigned to a group of 3 or 4 and will be taught the tryout dance and audition procedures. Everyone, including returning Jayette officer candidates, is required to attend this workshop, as well as the tryout. Videotaping will be allowed only at the conclusion of the workshop. Wear any comfortable/appropriate dance clothes with jazz shoes or dance sneakers.

Jayettes Tryouts

Date: Saturday, April 6, 2019

Location: Jesuit High School Gymnasium

Time: 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (approximately)

Details: Upon arrival, everyone will check in to receive their numbers and begin to stretch and review choreography on their own. In groups of 3 or 4, the girls will perform the audition routine as well as show some across-the-floor technique to the judges. Nobody will be allowed to leave until all auditions and possible call-backs are finished. Wear a black leotard, black shorts, tan stockings, and jazz shoes or dance sneakers.
