Lacrosse Defeats Strake Jesuit, 10-4
The Blue Jay varsity lacrosse team won Monday’s home non-conference game against the Strake Jesuit Fighting Crusaders (Houston, TX) by a score of 10-4. The battle between the Ignatian high schools saw the Jays at the top of their game against one of the tougher opponents they will face this season.
Starting goalie Cooper Posecai recorded eight saves in Jesuit’s victory at Muss Bertolino Stadium. The entire defense stepped up and shut down the Crusader offense for most of the game, making way for seniors Elliot Hattier and Ross Champagne to score a pair of goals each. Sophomore Jack Unger also had a pair of goals and led the team with two assists.
The offense controlled the game with solid possessions, allowing the defense to stay fresh on the back end. Not only did the Jays look their best on Monday, but they also bounced back after last year’s loss to Strake and safely secured another win.
