Jayettes Announce 2019-20 Team & New Coach

ShareThe Jesuit Jayettes are happy to announce the 46 dancers (listed below) that are invited to join the team for the 2019–2020 academic year. The Jayettes would also like to welcome their new coach, Sydney Gresham, to the team. They are sad to say goodbye to their coach of 7 years, Chloe Crosby, but would like to wish her success in all your future endeavors.
The new team was picked from a group of sixty-two girls who attended the tryout clinic held on April 13th in the Jesuit gymnasium. At the clinic Jayettes-hopefuls practiced technical elements and learned the dance that would be performed at tryouts the following day. The girls tried out for the team in front of a panel of four judges whose dance experience varies from being a high school dance team coach to an American All-Star staff member to Nicholls State University dance team members. At tryouts the girls were judged on across-the-floor technical elements that the Jayettes execute in a majority of their routines, high kicks and splits, as well as the choreography that they learned at the clinic the previous day.
Forty-six dancers are invited to join the Jayettes for the next academic year:

The team is coached by Sydney Gresham and moderated by Susan deBoisblanc. The dancers represent several all-girl high schools from around the city, as well as Jayette and Blue Jay legacies.
