Blue Jay Lacrosse Falls Short of Final Four Berth
The Jesuit High School (JHS) lacrosse team needed four more goals to have a chance at a final four berth in the Louisiana High School Lacrosse League (LHSLL) playoffs.
The top-seeded Blue Jays fell four short of the Brother Martin Crusaders, 6-2, at Joe Yenni Stadium on Sunday, May 5. It was Brother Martin’s first-ever win over the Jesuit lacrosse team, which marks BM’s first South District Championship title.
The Crusaders (5-4) became the last team to make the LHSLL Semifinals and to compete this weekend in Lafayette for a state championship.
The tough loss drops Jesuit’s LHSLL record to 10-2, a solid 83.33 win percentage, and closes out the 2019 lacrosse season. The Jays end their season as District Runners-Up.
