On Saturday, the 22nd of June, the Class of 1989 gathered for the penultimate reunion of the 2019 season. As many know, this also marked the second-to-last event under alumni director Mat Grau ’68, who is retiring on July 31. Grau’s alumni office followed the organized leadership of class leader Chris Cox to plan another successful ’89 reunion — the class’s 30th anniversary of graduation.
Following the lead of the class 10 years younger (1999), the 30-year group celebrated on Poydras Street at Vintage Rock Club, owned by Kyle Brechtel ’99. The ’89 Jays enjoyed a weekend of reconnecting, reminiscing, and celebrating the old Blue Jay Spirit. They had 77 guys, one-third of their class, in attendance! Congratulations, Class of 1989.
