Regular Order, Day 2
- Scoops Ahoy will be serving ice cream today in the courtyard during lunch!
- The big brother/little brother jambalaya lunch, sponsored by the Office of Institutional Advancement, will be held this Thursday during lunch in the Commons. Big brothers should coordinate with their little brothers to meet in Traditions Courtyard and then proceed to line up in the Commons near the bookstore.
- We will celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit on Friday, August 30. After homeroom that morning, we will convene in the Benson Arena for a special assembly before proceeding to the chapel for Mass. We expect to dismiss that morning at some point around 9:45-10:00 am. The eighth graders will remain after Mass for their retreat that will dismiss at 2:00 p.m. All students must wear coat and tie on Friday, August 30, for the Mass of the Holy Spirit.
- Any students who need to pick up money from used book sales should do so in Room 235 by this Friday.
- Students trying out for the golf team today at 4:00 p.m. at City Park must turn in their medical forms to Coach Culotta by the end of lunch today.
- Paintball club will meet today during first half of lunch in Room 110 to plan the club’s first outing. New members are welcomed. Please see Master Gunnery Sergeant Piseno with any questions.
- The Academic Games team will hold an informational meeting today during the second half of lunch in Room 220. New and interested players are encouraged to attend.
- Mu Alpha Theta will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 332. This meeting is for returning members only.
- Students planning to work for The Blue Jay newspaper or the Jesuit News Network social media team will meet tomorrow during lunch.
- The National Honor Society will meet tomorrow during the first half of lunch in the auditorium. All returning members are expected to attend.
- The St. Peter Claver Club will meet tomorrow during the second half of lunch in Room 210. New members are welcome.
- The Barbershop Blue Jays will meet tomorrow after school in Room 202. All students interested in singing in a quartet are encouraged to attend.
- All members of the fencing club will meet tomorrow after school in Room 212 for a brief organizational meeting.
- Students who are interested in taking an AP exam for which they are not enrolled in an AP class need to see Ms Timberlake tomorrow before school, during lunch, or after school in CL3.
- The Teen Ambassadors Against Crime (TAAC) Leadership Program sponsored by Crimestoppers is a citywide leadership program designed to help students gain a better understanding of the criminal justice system. If you are interested in this program, please see Mr. Ernst, who will be in the Social Studies office (Room 205) during the lunch period to answer questions and to distribute applications. You may also contact Mr. Ernst by e-mail for more information.
- This year the intramural sports program will open with a new sport: dodgeball. Intramural dodgeball will be open to 9th-12th grade teams. Student may form their own teams. The registration fee is $10 per team. Registration forms can be picked up today outside Room 114 and are due next week. Games will be played in Benson Arena during the first half of lunch and will start in September.
- Top’s tip of the day: Food and drink may only be consumed in the yard, commons or cafeteria.
