Virtual Auction a Definite Success
With the first-ever Virtual Bazaar Auction wrapping up this past Saturday, June 27, online auction-goers took to their keyboards in droves to support Jesuit High School. Participants were treated to an outstanding selection of auction items, and competitive bidders clinched their items of choice in dozens of last-minute bidding battles.
The cherished reserved parking spot commanded an impressive $3,500.00 final price; many gift cards and services went for their sticker price or more; and Jesuit-themed items brought out the Blue Jay spirit from parents and alumni from all over the country.
Most impressively, the 50/50 raffle soared to almost $5,000.00 in tickets sold. Brian Passantino was named the raffle winner when Interim President Fr. Brown, S.J. drew the final lucky ticket.
Beyond the support of everyone who participated in the virtual auction despite the extenuating circumstances, the Bazaar was a success because of the many hours of volunteer work lead by chairpersons Missy Martin (mother of Davis Martin ’17 and graduating senior Hayes Martin ’20), Amy Burke (mother of sophomore Daniel Burke and incoming prefreshman Colin Burke), and Jaime Falcon (mother of sophomore Dylan Falcon).
The auction itself was coordinated by Cindy Wooderson (mother of Robert Wooderson ’00, Kyle Wooderson ’07, and rising senior Bryce Wooderson) and Alison James (mother of Mark James ’15, John James ’16, Paul James ’18, and Peter James, ’19).
