After an Undefeated District Performance, the Jays Look Terrific
By Michael Paul Fine ’22, Editor-in-Chief
As the golf team finishes district play, the rest of the season looks promising. The team has
faced strong competition against Brother Martin, Holy Cross, and St. Augustine.
Junior Merrick Rotolo states: “The season has gone better than expected. Obviously, with golf, we are lucky to not have been affected by quarantining players unlike other sports. We are happy to finish the regular season undefeated, but we are ready for district, regional, and state tournaments.”
The team has posted tremendous scores during the district play. Junior Jacob Schorr posted a score of 33 against Brother Martin on April 6. Also, both Taylor Boasberg ’22 and Merrick Rotolo ’22 scored an even par 36.
Furthermore, against Rummel, the team posted a total score of 160. Si Holmes ’21 shot a solid score of 41, and Taylor Boasberg shot a 37.
Throughout the season, the team has looked great under any condition and have found
success at many different golf courses.
Merrick Rotolo ’22 adds: “We are playing some of our best golf of the season right now. It’s not going to be easy to bring back a state title to Carrollton and Banks, but we are going to give it our all.”
