Regular Order, Day 4
- In honor of Black History Month, the Jesuit Men of Color present a series of mini-lectures on songs tied to the Civil Rights Movement. Presentations are during first half of lunch on each Friday in February in Room 210. All are invited. This week’s theme is A Change is Gonna Come: Anthems of the Movement.
- The Pro-Life club will today during the first half of lunch on the chapel steps for the yearbook picture.
- The Green Club will meet today during second half of lunch in Room 416.
- The Tabletop Role-Playing Society will meet today after school in Room 120.
- The varsity wrestling team will compete in the state tournament this morning at 9:00 at the River Center in Baton Rouge. Wrestling on Saturday begins at 10:00. The finals will take place Saturday evening starting at 5:00.
- The varsity basketball team will host Holy Cross tonight in the Benson Arena with tip off set for 7:00. The jv game begins at 5:45.
- The 9th grade basketball team plays at Holy Cross on Saturday morning starting at 10:00. The 8th grade game follows at 11:00.
- The varsity baseball team will scrimmage both Lutcher and Thibodaux at Southeastern Louisiana University on Saturday morning starting at 1:00.
- The JV baseball team will scrimmage at Catholic on Saturday afternoon starting at 3:00.
- The 9th grade lacrosse team will face Catholic on Saturday at 4:00 at St. Paul’s. The second game will begin at 5:00 or 6:00 depending on the outcome of the first game.
- Students who received invitations for Honors Physics are reminded to turn in the form to Mrs. Tassin by Friday, Feb 18.
- All senior basketball games will be in the 3rd floor of the Roussel building today.
Results:
- Last Saturday, the Freshmen Basketball team defeated the Shaw Eagles by a score of 36-28. Brady Mullen was the leading scorer in the game with 11 points after connecting on 3 three pointers. Christian Danna and Anthony Montalbano added energy and effort to the game along with several other Jays.
- On Wednesday the 8th grade basketball team defeated St. Aug 36-30. Brennan Pitts led the Jays with 10 points. Sven Jensen had 9 and Tyler Farley had 5. Beau Matulewski, Tanner Hughes, Brady Autin, Zach LaGraize, and Michael Brothers also had important buckets.
