Regular Order, Day 5
- Tomorrow we will follow an Assembly Order #2, with an assembly period from 11:30-12:30. While seniors are rehearsing for ring mass, the rest of the student body will have grade-level assemblies. 8th, 9th, and 10th graders and their homeroom teachers will report to the auditorium for a presentation by Dr. Jennifer Creedon who will discuss adolescent development and decision making — particularly with regard to alcohol and drug use. 11th graders and their homeroom teachers will report to the commons for a presentation by the college counselors on the college planning process. Students should leave their books in their 4th period classrooms during the assembly period.
- All seniors on the football team will meet in the large chapel after school today for a brief Ring Mass rehearsal.
- There will be Adoration this Friday from 8am-3pm, with Benediction during the first lunch. Please come by and spend some time with the Lord. Confessions will also be held at the usual time.
- Rush days will continue today during lunch in the Commons. Come learn about Jesuit’s co-curricular offerings and get involved.
- Join young people from across the greater New Orleans area in celebrating the young Catholic Church of the Archdiocese at the NOLA Catholic Youth Conference happening here at Jesuit on Saturday Sept. 24 from 9am-5pm. The event will feature inspirational speakers, workshops, Mass, Reconciliation, Eucharistic Adoration, praise & worship, prayer opportunities, and more. The event is free for Jesuit students. To register, stop by the Campus Ministry office, Room 225.
- Students interested in viewing the Pro-Life film Lifemark at the Palace Theater in Elmwood at 7pm on Sunday should come see Mr. Delatte or Mrs. DeBoisblanc to pick up a permission form. Please click here to see the trailer for the movie Lifemark.
- Senior Ring Dance will be held this Saturday, Sept. 10, at Club XLIV in the Superdome from 8:00 – 11:00pm. Ticket sales take place before school in the Cafeteria and after school in Room 223. Tickets are $40 presale and $50 at the door on Saturday.
- Seniors: Service Project Essays are due tomorrow. One copy should be submitted online by Canvas, and a digital copy to Room 225.
- 8th graders who want to run for Class Level President must complete a nomination form and turn it in by this Friday. Forms may be found outside of Room 114 and on Canvas in the Student Life course.
- Any students interested in going to serve at Grace at the Greenlight, a program that serves breakfast to homeless men and women in Central City, should see Mr. Delatte in Room 225 to pick up a permission form.
- The Robotics Team is meeting today after school in Room 307 from 6-8.
- The Video Games Club will meet after school in Room 116.
- The National Honor Society will meet in Room 112 immediately after school today for our weekly recycling collection.
- The Music Critics Club will meet on tomorrow at the start of the second half of lunch in Room 115.
- There will be an organizational meeting for all students interested in trying out for the tennis team on Friday in Room 120 starting at 3:10. All returning tennis team members are expected to be in attendance.
- Students interested in playing beach volleyball, there will be an informational meeting Friday during the second half of lunch in Room 323. Please see Mrs. Catalano if you have any questions.
- The varsity football team will play at Ruston on Friday night with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. All tickets are $12.00 each and must be purchased at the gate.
