After four years of protecting Blue Jays, security guard James Allen — known for his singing and warm smile — is leaving Jesuit to take care of his ailing mother in Wilson, North Carolina.

The sophomore class, which has formed a special bond with Allen, created a farewell memento and presented it to Allen at lunch on Friday, February 21. The Jayson poster was signed by the entire class of 2016. The students told Allen they consider him an honorary Blue Jay.

Other members of the student body and appreciative parents joined the Class of 2016 in thanking the popular school employee for his years of dedicated service to the Jesuit community. Before Allen headed home he received hugs, handshakes, and high-fives from dozens of Blue Jays.

Good luck, James. Jesuit will miss you.
