Junior Chris Mills set a personal record in the 60 meter hurdles at the Indoor Track and Field State Meet on Saturday, Feb. 22 in Baton Rouge. The event was held in LSU’s Carl Maddox Field House.

Mills, who also plays football for the Blue Jays, qualified for the finals by finishing 8th in the 16-person semi-finals. He finished 6th in the finals with a personal record time of 8.80 seconds. First place in the 60 meter hurdles went to a nationally-ranked hurdler from Destrehan High School.

Mills plans to run the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles in the upcoming outdoor season. He was the only Blue Jay to participate in the state championship meet.

The head track and field coach is Richard Bohn, who also coaches Jesuit hurdlers.
