Charles I. Spencer, Sr., 84, of Laplace, Louisiana, transitioned from his earthly life to be with his Heavenly Father March 13, 2023. Charles—or “Sarge” as he was affectionately known to many—was born March 22, 1938, in Homestead, Pennsylvania, and was the eldest of six brothers. In 1952, at the age of fourteen, Charles attended Fifth Avenue High School in Pennsylvania, where he only completed one year before deciding to pursue his career in the United States Marine Corps.

In August 1979, Charles, also known as “Top”, worked on the faculty at Jesuit High School for thirteen years and retired in May 1992.
