The Blue Jay varsity basketball team takes a long bus ride to north Louisiana on Friday, Feb. 28 to play the Ruston Bearcats in the opening (bi-district) round of the state playoffs. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. in the Bearcats’ gym. Admission is $6 each for adults, students, and children. Student IDs are not accepted at the gate for LHSAA playoff games.

Jesuit enters the playoffs as the 21st seed after finishing the 2013-2014 regular season 17-11 overall and 5-5 in district play. Ruston is the 12th seed. The winner of the Jesuit-Ruston game will face the winner of the L.W. Higgins – Northshore contest in a regional round that is scheduled to be played on or by Tuesday, March 4 (Mardi Gras).
