Track & Field Team Takes Second Place in Christian Brothers Relays

The Blue Jay track and field team placed second in the Christian Brothers Relays on Saturday, March 15 at St. Paul’s School in Covington.

Two Blue Jays, junior Raymond Nash and senior Anthony Genova, took first place in their individual events. Nash won the triple jump with a leap of 39 feet, while Genova secured first in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.24 seconds.

The Blue Jays return to action on Friday and Saturday, March 21-22 when the varsity team splits up to participate in two relays — the Gator Relays at South Terrebonne High School and Sugar Bowl Relays at Tad Gormley Stadium.

High Jump – junior Matthew Wolf, 4th place, cleared 5’ 10”

Pole Vault – junior Austin Schott, 3rd place, cleared 11’ 6”

Long Jump – sophomore Malachi Hull, 6th place, jumped 19’ 1 ½”

Triple Jump – Hull, 2nd place, jumped 38’ 9 ½”; junior Raymond Nash, 1st place, jumped 39’

Discus – senior Dominic Engolia, 3rd place, threw 114’ 10”

Javelin – senior Austin Aucoin, 6th place, threw 129’ 2”

4×200 meter relay – junior Bobby Comeaux, senior Grady Burnett, junior Mitchell Melito, senior Anthony Genova, 6th place, time of 1:41.15

1600 meter run – senior Liam Fitzgerald, 4th place, 4:48.42

110 meter hurdles – sophomore Roshan Sojitra, 4th place, 17.94s; junior Chris Mills, 2nd place, 16.35s

100 meter dash – senior Michael Murray, 5th place, 11.98s

800 meter run – junior Michael Schwing, 3rd place, 2:04.98; junior Patrick LaCour, 2nd place, 2:04.22

4×100 meter relay – Comeaux, Genova, junior Evans Schmidt, junior Michael McMahon, 3rd place, 45.74s

300 meter hurdles – Mills, 4th place, 44.15s; Melito, 2nd place, 43.62s

200 meter dash – Genova, 1st place, 23.24s
