Regular Order, Day 4
- The varsity lacrosse team will face St. Thomas More in a state semifinal playoff contest this afternoon at Catholic starting at 4:00. Should the team emerge victorious this afternoon they will advance to the state championship vs. the Newman/Catholic winner on Sunday at Catholic starting at 1:00. Admission price for each game is $10.00.
- Junior Prom is this evening from 8-11pm at the Ridgeway in Old Metairie. Tickets ($45 per couple) can be purchased at the following link. General dance information can be found on the Student Life Page on Canvas and the Jesuit website.
- The varsity rugby team will face East Jefferson in a state semifinal playoff match on Saturday evening at Marconi starting at 6:00 p.m.
- The jv lacrosse team will compete in the Div. II state championship game on Saturday vs. The Willow School at Catholic starting at 1:00.
- Students interested in attending the National Mu Alpha Theta Tournament in Las Vegas July 7-12 should pick up required forms from Mrs. Brauner today during the second half of lunch in Room 225.
- The Classic Rock Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 203.
- Join Mr. Jaskiewicz and Mr. Newell today at 3:05 in the courtyard tomorrow for a walking rosary.
- Second-notice printing fees for February and March have been sent to students’ Outlook email accounts (not Canvas messaging). To avoid losing computer services and receiving a PH, students must pay their fees in Room 215 by Monday, April 29 either before school, at 10-minute break, or during the lunch hour.
Results:
- Senior Harrison Harley recently competed in the Louisiana Right to Life Pro-Life Oratory Regional Contest and won first place. Harrison was awarded a cash prize and will compete in the State competition in May; the winner of that contest will represent the State in the National competition in Washington, DC. Congratulations.
- This past week the Academic Games team traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, to compete in the national tournament. Competitors included seniors Parker Alig, Max Bartlett, Mason Becker, Dylan Patel, and Christian Smith; freshman Cruz Ledet; and pre-freshman Yousef Fallaha. Mason and Parker were on a combination team with Dominican and Ben Franklin that earned 1st place in Presidents and 4th in overall sweepstakes. Max and Christian competed alongside Brother Martin and Ben Franklin to earn a 4th place finish in On-Sets. Max Bartlett placed 2nd in On-Sets. Parker Alig placed 3rd in Current Events and 5th in Presidents which culminated in a 10th place overall Sweepstakes award.
- Wednesday night in Hahnville, the track and field team scored 88 points outdistancing its opponents, Destrehan and John Curtis by over 20 points, to win the regional track meet.
- 3rd place finishers and State Qualifiers were: Jude Cannon in the Pole Vault, Spencer Waguespack in the Shot Put, Connor LaCour in the 400 meter dash, and Brady Monahan in the 3200 meter dash.
- 2nd place finishers and State Qualifiers were: Brandt Blanchard in the 800 meters and the 4×400 relay team of Connor LaCour, Josh Quintana, Brandt Blanchard, and Michael Vocke.
- Regional Champions and State Qualifiers were: Ja’ir Burks in the 110 Hurdles, Michael Vocke in the 1600 meters, Brady Mullen in the 3200 meters, and the 4×800 Relay team of Alex Siguenza, Finn Connolly, Michael Trepagnier, and Brady Mullen.
