Regular Order, Day 1

  • All juniors will meet tomorrow during the first half of lunch in the auditorium for a Balfour senior ring ordering presentation.
  • The Chess Club and the Chess team, and all students interested in joining the Chess team, will meet today after school in Room 311.
  • Philelectic Society Set Crew will meet today and tomorrow after school until 5:30 in the auditorium.
  • Any Juniors or Seniors who helped with the 8th grade retreat and have not received a t-shirt should see Mr. Bacon or Mr. Symmes in the Campus Ministry office to pick up their shirt.
  • The Jesuit Medical Society is hosting the annual Fall Blood Drive on Tuesday, Sept. 16. Students 16 years and older can sign up to donate. Donating blood not only saves lives, but students also can get a free T shirt and free tickets to the Mortuary. Representatives from the Medical Society will be visiting homerooms to sign you up or you can sign up with Mrs. Tassin in Room 315.
  • Juniors and Seniors interested in joining Peer Support can pick up a commitment form in the Guidance office. We will have an introductory meeting for all new and interested student leaders tomorrow during the first half of lunch in St. Ignatius hall. Any seniors planning to return as leaders again this year need to fill out and turn in a commitment form in the Guidance office. Please see Mrs. Delaney with any questions.

Results:

  • Congratulations to the Freshman Football team for defeating St. Charles Catholic 26-0 last Wednesday at John Ryan Stadium.  Offensively the young Jays were led in scoring by running backs Riley Rubion and Owen Chepolis who both scored rushing touchdowns.  Additionally, QB Sully Sullivan connected with receiver Graham Norton for a 40 yard TD. Defensively, cornerback Harrison Trauth had a 35 yard pick-six to complete the scoring.
  • The 8th grade swimming team splashed their way into the new season Saturday at the Southern University of New Orleans. The Aqua Jays scored an astounding 452 points, outscoring second place Holy Cross by 60 points and Brother Martin by over 250 points. Tripp Yount led the Jays with three individual event victories. Liam Phann was not far behind with two individual wins and a second place. Additional top 8 finishers include Evan Offner, Emile Offner, Chase Vidrine, Harrison Tschirn, Charlie Dowd, and Ben Cerise.
