Mock Trial Jays Win Regional, On to State

Jesuit finished 1st and 2nd at the Mock Trial regional competition on Saturday, March 22. The competition, which included four teams from Jesuit and 13 teams overall, took place at the 24th Judicial District Court in Gretna.

Jesuit’s Green Team which included senior Mark Alvarez, and juniors Patrick Fine and William Tittle (attorneys), and seniors Charles Farley and Jordan Lacoste, and junior Matthew Stuckey (witnesses) defeated St. Paul’s in the semi-final round.

In the other semi-final match, Jesuit’s Brown Team consisting of sophomores Myles Kuss and John Kemmerly, and freshman William Fine (attorneys), and sophomores Ross Barilleaux, Ryan Gaudet, Thomas Helmers, and freshman B.J. Guient (witnesses) defeated Haynes Academy for Advanced Studies.

In the championship match, Jesuit Green prevailed over Jesuit Brown. Both teamsĀ  advance to the state championship on Saturday, March 29 in Shreveport.

Coaches include attorneys Brett Wise ’82, Michael Mentz ’74, John Becknell ’05, and Michael Mims ’05.
