  • The Blue Jay Band invites you to our annual “Evening of Christmas Magic” this Saturday night at 6:00 PM in the Jesuit Auditorium. The evening will feature festive performances by the Philelectic Society Singers, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and the Alumni Brass Ensemble, bringing you an unforgettable night of Christmas music and magic. The concert is completely free, so bring your family and friends. We encourage you to arrive early—not only to grab the best seats but also to join in the Christmas caroling led by the Philelectic Society before the show begins.  Along with the great music, there is a very high probability of intense lighting effects as well as snow!
  • Blue Jays, Don’t miss Twelve Angry Men starring E. Shankle, Neil Odeh, and Mr. Cragin’s Public Speaking class on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 6 PM in the auditorium. Get your tickets now on the JHS website and support your fellow Blue Jays in this powerful performance.
  • The Toys for Tots Campaign Drive will end tomorrow. Thank you in advance for your contributions in helping the Marine Corps Reserve provide toys for needy children.
  • Christmas festivities continue today during lunch in the Commons with karaoke and the first annual House Gingerbread House competition. House Cup points and other prizes will be awarded. 
  • Any student interested in trying out for the varsity baseball team should meet today during the first half of lunch in the baseball locker room.  
  • The Creative Writing Club will meet during the first half of lunch in Room 116.
  • SABR will meet today during the first half of lunch in Room 331.  Come discuss Soto’s mega contract and other potential off-season moves in MLB.
  • Ultimate frisbee will play today second half of lunch on Will Clark Field.
  • Will any of our local teams provide Christmas cheer over the break? Discuss this and more at today’s Sports Analysis Club meeting during the second half of lunch in Room 231. 
  • The Movie Critics Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 221.
  • The Ice Cream Social will meet today during the second half of lunch on the second floor of the Roussell building.
  • The Pickleball Club will meet today during the second half of lunch on the 3rd floor of the Roussell Building.
  • Get ready to question everything you think you know about luck, chance, and coincidents. Spoiler… It’s more random than you think! Max Bartlett ’24 will be giving a presentation on the Perceptions of Randomness in Cognitive Science today during the second half of lunch in Room 403. All students are invited to attend. 
  • The varsity basketball team will begin play tonight in the Catholic Tourney hosting East Jefferson in the Benson Arena with tip off set for 7:00.
  • The varsity wrestling team will face Teurlings Catholic in a dual meet this evening at Teurlings Catholic starting at 6:00.
  • The varsity soccer team will begin play in the Copa Acadiana Tournament at the Burbank Soccer Complex in Baton Rouge tonight vs. Dutchtown starting at 7:00.
  • Balfour will be on campus tomorrow during lunch in the auditorium to take senior ring and graduation announcement orders.
  • The deadline to sign up a team for intramural basketball is Saturday. 8th grade must sign up by homeroom.
  • Tomorrow during the second half of lunch the Student Council will sponsor a tacky Christmas Sweater contest.  There will also be a contest for most Christmas-y socks and the best Christmas suit.  All students are invited to wear their Christmas best on Friday throughout the day, but must adhere to the following guidelines: All clothing worn must not be offensive (no references to drugs, alcohol, immodest and/or sacrilegious images or words); students who wear Christmas sweaters do not need to wear their nametag on the sweater; Students who wear Christmas suits do not need to wear a tie, but should wear a dress shirt and must wear their school shoes. Any questions about attire should be directed to the Director of Student Activities.
