Results:

  • The wrestling team stayed busy over the Christmas break, traveling to Missouri, Wisconsin, and starting district play. To get the holiday started Bodi Harris, Harris Treuting, and Michael Barnett all placed in the top 8 of their weight classes at the KC Stampede and the team took 12th out of over 80 teams. The following weekend the Blue Jay Wrestlers defeated Holy Cross 46-20 in the first district dual of the year and just last night put away Rummel to stay undefeated in district competition. This past weekend, the team became the 1st Louisiana team to travel to the prestigious Cheesehead Invitational in Wisconsin. The Blue Jays grappled their way to 2nd place finish, defeating state championship teams from Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, and Minnesota. JP Webre placed 3rd, Isaac Orillion placed 4th, Bodi Harris and Michael Barnett both placed 5th, and Harris Treuting, Max Belsome, and Jose Rincon all finished in 6th place. As a result of these performances, the wrestling team has recently been recognized my MatScouts as one of the top up and coming teams in the country. The team’s next competition will occur next Wendesday when the Jays dual Brother Martin for the District Title.
